Not financial, tax or legal advice
ClearFinBooks provides general-purpose calculators for planning and educational purposes only. Nothing on this site is tax, financial, investment or legal advice, and using these calculators does not create any advisory relationship. Individual circumstances vary — residential status, income type, applicable deductions and exemptions can all change the correct answer for you. Confirm decisions with a qualified chartered accountant, tax advisor, or the official Income Tax Department portal before acting on them.
Income tax calculator — scope and assumptions
- Covers resident individuals with salary/pension income for FY 2025-26 (AY 2026-27), which also applies unchanged to FY 2026-27 following Budget 2026.
- Does not cover capital gains (taxed at special rates), business or professional income, HUFs, firms, companies, or non-resident taxation.
- Standard deduction (₹75,000 new regime / ₹50,000 old regime), Section 87A rebate, marginal relief, surcharge (10%/15%/25%/37%, capped at 25% under the new regime) and 4% Health & Education Cess are all applied as currently notified.
- The "deductions" field in the old-regime calculation is a single number you enter — it does not independently verify that you're eligible for each deduction or that you haven't exceeded individual section caps (e.g. ₹1,50,000 under 80C). You are responsible for entering an accurate, eligible figure.
EMI, SIP and lumpsum calculators — scope and assumptions
- EMI assumes a fixed interest rate for the full tenure, with no prepayment, part-payment, or processing fees. Real loans — especially floating-rate home loans — will differ.
- SIP and lumpsum calculators use an "expected annual return" that you choose. This is an assumption, not a projection or guarantee. Mutual fund and equity returns are market-linked, can be negative in any given year, and past performance does not guarantee future results.
- These calculators ignore taxes on investment gains (capital gains tax, dividend distribution tax where applicable) and any expense ratios or exit loads — actual take-home returns will be lower than the gross figures shown.
How we verify figures
Tax slabs, deduction limits, rebate thresholds and surcharge rates are checked against the applicable Finance Act and current CBDT/Income Tax Department guidance at the time each page is published or updated. Each page displays the date figures were last verified. When a Union Budget or CBDT notification changes a rate, we update both the calculation engine and the stated verification date — we do not leave outdated figures live without updating the date.
No data is stored
Numbers you enter into these calculators are sent to our server only to compute a result and are not stored or linked to you.
